The Virginian DVD
The Virginian was a drama television show first aired at NBC on 19th of September 1962 until 24th of March 1971. This is a long-lived series which was unique for it's time,it was filmed in color and that each episode had a running time of one and one-half hours. The story was based on one of Owen Wister's novel in 1902, it has been filmed several times previously and again in 2000. The series was centered on the events at Shiloh Ranch near Medicine Bow, Wyowing which was owned by a former judge Henry Garth (Lee J. Cobb) and his daughter Betsy (Roberta Shore). The other cast of the story included the ranch hands led by the foreman, the Virginian (James Drury), and included Trampas (Doug Mc Clure) and, for the first three seasons, Steve Hill (Gary Clarke). Later, the ownership of the ranch changed and several of the hands camen and went with only The Virginian and Trampas remaining around for all nine seasons.
