Directed by Roger Andrieux and Tab Baird with the writing credits of Naomi Janzen and Dawn Ritchie. Hitchhiker was aired on HBO from 1983 until 1987. In the Movie Network in Canada and 1989 to 1990 on the USA network. The TV series episodes were introduced and concluded by the known character of The Hitchhiker. The show was syndicated by Rysher until the year 2000.
The series revolves on mystery thriller stories. Hitchhiker follows the style of Rod Sterling or Alfred Hitchcock. The stories involve supernatural forces and most of it featured the dark side of human spirit.
