The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis is an American comedy television series aired from 1959 to 1963 on CBS. Produced by Martin Manulis Productions in cooperation with 20th Century Fox Television, the series and some episodes were adapted from Max Schullman's 1951 collection of short stories. It follows the adventures of a teenaged boy named Dobie Gillis played by Dwayne Hickman, who always had an aspiration to be popular and to have lots of money and some sort of attention of beautiful and unattainable girls in town. He is living with his family consists of his mother Winnie played by Florida Friebus who is very caring and tends to baby her son a little too much. His father Herbert played by Frank Faylen is a hard-working and very proud son of a veteran of World War II. The two antagonists in Dobie's life are the rich kids Milton Armitage played by Warren Beatty and Chartsworth Osborne Jr. played by Steven Franken.
