Martin is a 30-minute American comedy television series produced by HBO Independent Productions which first aired on Fox Television Network on August 27, 1992. After its run for five seasons, the series ended on May 1, 1997. Set in Detroit, Michigan, it starred actor-comedian Martin Lawrence as Martin Payne,a young disk jockey who turned into a television personality. He has a girlfriend named Gina played by Tisha Campbell-Martin. Martin works for WZUP, a fictional radio station and later in the season he worked for local Public-access television station Channel 51. The series features Martin's comic misadventures with his closest friends Pam James, his best friends Tommy Strong and Cole Brown. His neighbor Shenneh, mother Payne and many more joined his adventures in the series.
