Kate and Allie is an American situation comedy series ran on CBS from March 19, 1984 until May 22, 1989 starring Susan Saint James as Kate McArdle and Jane Curtin as Allie Lowell. Kate and Allie are childhood best friends who decided to move in together New York's City's Greenwich Village after their respective divorce with their husbands. They raised their children together. Kate has a daughter named Emma played by Ari Meyer and Allie's children were Chip and Annie played by Fredrick Koehler and Allison Smith. Allie and Kate are strong and independent women who dated several men. The series became the most popular critically acclaimed and ranked in the Top 20 shows until its last run.
