The Simpsons is an American animated comedy series produced by James L. Brook for Fox Broadcasting Company which premiered on December 17, 1989. It was the longest-running animated series in America that ran for 23 seasons with a total of 495 episodes. It is about a middle class family including Homer, Bart, Marge, Maggie and Lisa Simpsons. They live in the town of Springfield. Homer is the father who works as a safety inspector at the local nuclear power plant. Marge is the mother who tries to keep peace in the family. Their children are Bart, a 10-year old trouble maker; Lisa, a 8-year old vegetarian and baby Maggie. The show won a Peabody Awards, 23 Emmy Awards, 23 Annie Awards, 4 Genesis Awards, 9 International Monitor Awards for Longest-running prime time animated series and Most Guest Stars featured in a television.
