Banacek is a 90-minute detective action television series aired on NBC Channel from 1972 to 1974 starring George Peppard as Thomas Banacek, a self-made millionaire living in Boston's posh Beacon Hill area. He is a hip Polish-American private detective that uses his cime-solving abilities to find stolen properties which he received bonus rewards from insurance companies. His personal assistant and driver Jay played by Ralph Manza helps Banacek recover the stolen items. Banacek also seeks the help of his close friend Felix Mulholland, a bookstore owner, for his researches. The series was later rebroadcast on the A & E Network.
